Mission Out Of The Ashes is a Gospel Trio made up of former members of the The Bread Of Life Singers. Home based out of Chatsworth, Georgia, the family group travels wherever called. Out Of The Ashes is a unique gospel music group that is currently signed with Heaven Sound Promotions out of Texas. This dynamic group was raised on the old southern Gospel music like “Rock Of Ages” , “The King Is Coming” , “Rise Again”, and “Mercy Walked In”. Original music includes “Kickin’ Up Dust” , “Light It Up” and “Land Of Milk And Honey”. The Style is a mix of Southern Gospel and Country Gospel which makes for really fun, Spirit filled services and concerts . Out of the Ashes original music has played well on the radio nationwide along with their playlist of musical favorites for the older and younger audience. Our main goal is to spread the true meaning of God’s freedom and love and that God sent ‘his only begotten son that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting Life’. Lead singer Tod Davis is a living miracle himself, miraculously surviving twenty six strokes and yet still being able to return to singing and speaking engagements nationwide. Doctors said Tod would not survive but if he did, it would be as a vegetable. And yet here he is with Out of the Ashes going on eight years and six Cd projects and plans of yet another project.

I grew up as a Catholic, not knowing what religion really meant until I got older. When I was 16yrs old I even stole merchandise from stores because I was hanging around with the wrong crowd. One day my father got a call from The Bloomingdale Police Dept. and oh boy was I in big trouble. However, I got off light that time because I only had to do community service. I was about one month away from my 17th birthday. And at that time, at that age, the authorities could have charged me as an adult. But with God's grace watching over me, with His hand upon me, I was spared that ordeal. Although I didn’t know it at the time. Back then I had no idea what life had in store for me and I was still hanging around with the wrong crowd. I drank and I smoked cigarettes and I even tried marijuana. But I didn’t like the way it made me feel. I just kept going in the wrong direction. When I was 18 years old, a friend of mine who had been in jail, introduced me to a guy that she knew and I started dating him. At first it wasn’t bad at all. He bought me flowers and was respectful. My parents didn’t like him at all, but there again, I wouldn’t listen. I was 18 and I thought I knew it all. Later on in the relationship he started to abuse me because his life was a mess and he was an alcoholic so he took it out on me. I even became pregnant and had to give the baby up for adoption. Four months later I got pregnant again. I still hadn’t learned that there are consequences to my actions. However, something inside of me told me not to give this child up this time and so I began to work toward making a better life for myself I began by giving up many of the sinful things I was doing in an effort to be a better person. Deep down I always wanted to be a good person. I just didn’t know how on my own. That’s when I met Tod. I could go on about how we met but that’s another story altogether and for another time. Fast forward to a few years later. We were struggling as a family but things began to change for the better when Tod and the children began going to church. It wasn’t a Catholic church so I didn’t go. Tod and the kids seemed very happy and even began a singing group called Bread of Life, but still, I stood back and watched what was going on from a distance. God had begun showing me things but I brushed it off and kept my distance. The pastors had even counseled Tod to ‘leave me alone’ and just pray for me. They told all three of our children the same thing, ‘just pray’. Finally, I decided to try to go. At first, I started going randomly and then one thing led to another, when one day, a visiting Evangelist started talking about the ‘different religions’; one of them being the Catholic Religion. After service I went up to him and I asked why he was ‘picking on’ the Catholics. He said, “ma’am I didn’t mean to offend you and I really wasn’t picking on the Catholic religion at all. I’m sorry if I offended you.” That, I believe, was the turning point for me. I became more and more open to the Holy Spirit. God was wooing me to Himself and the feelings in my heart began to soften toward what was happening inside. All this time my family kept praying for me. One day I went home from church, walked into the bedroom and slammed the door behind me. I was frustrated and confused and longing for the answers to why I felt this way. Conviction had set in and I was realizing that I needed to change my life completely. By that time, Tod and the kids had started a singing group called Bread of Life and they would practice almost every day. The more they practiced, the more irritated I became. Finally, one day I couldn’t take it any longer. I burst into tears and Tod began to pray for me right there. I gave it all to God as Tod lead me to Jesus Christ and the tears kept right on flowing because I didn’t want to be left behind. I wanted Jesus.
